Daktarin (miconazole) 2% cream is an effective treatment for the three main types of fungi.
The cream contains an active ingredient known as miconazole nitrate, and it works by killing any fungi present, reducing the symptoms of common skin conditions. It does this by targeting the fungus’ cell membranes, stopping them from functioning properly.Daktarin 2% cream also contains a minor antibacterial agent that can kill certain harmful bacteria associated with such fungal infections. This helps to stop the bacteria from spreading the infection to other parts of the body, allowing the fungi to slowly die off.
Make sure to wash and dry affected areas on a regular basis. For Daktarin 2% cream to work effectively, patients should continue treatment for up to seven days after their symptoms have disappeared in order to stop the infection from reoccurring.
