Irish Medical Card Charges

Individuals or families who qualify for the GMS Scheme will have the cost of the Medicines paid by the HSE providing the Medicine is on the approved HSE list.

The Goverenment currenlty charge a levy of €1.50 per item dispensed under the GMS Scheme, the pharmacy by law must collect the €1.50 levy when the items are dispensed.

There is a cap of €15 per month per individual/family. Be sure to let us know of each eligible family member to ensure you are not charged more than €15 per month.

Over 70's GMS Charges

The cost per item for over 70's on GMS scheme is €1 per item, capped at €10 per month per person or family.
